One of the most talented and lively entertainers decided to set up shop for a valentine’s weekend of throwback country hits. With hits like “Callin’ Baton Rouge” and “Friends in Low Places” Garth Brooks was not out to disappoint the southern crowd. It has been nearly two decades since Brooks came to Charleston, South Carolina and this time he played a total of 4 shows spanning from Friday February 12th to Sunday February 14th in which 3 of the 4 shows were sold out.
Standing in line for almost 2 hours with thousands of excited fans was an experience, as they all were naming off songs that they hoped he would play. The doors swung open and it was time to watch the famed singer perform his magic. His energectic performance had him running from one side of the stage to the next even at one point standing on top of the revolving ball that his drummer was settled into. Playing most of the hits we would all enjoy to hear.
Trisha Yearwood came on halfway through the concert as Garth joined her for a duet with the hit song “In Another’s Eyes” which ultimately led to her singing some of her top hits. “X’s and O’s”, “She’s In Love With The Boy” and last but not least “Georgia Rain” in which their backup singer Karyn Rochelle joined her in singing (the writer of the song).
Garth came back onto the stage in which he peformed what’s called “Housekeeping” in which he looks out into the crowd and reads fans’ signs. He picks a few and sings some of the songs that are suggested on the signs. There was a young woman and her five year old little boy in the crowd who held up a sign saying “I was named after you, Avery Troyal. Will you sing Mom?” and he gladly did. Not to mention he suggested signing the sign for the young woman only to end up signing his guitar and giving it the woman and her young son.
Overall I’d have to say that the concert was one of the most energetic and loudest ones i’ve ever been too. If your looking for a good time and love to hear all the throwback country hits we all fell in love with this is the one! Garth will not disappoint you!
